The ASUS UX21 notebook.
It would apear the Netbook is dead and the new look aluminum skinned, razor thin *Ultrabook* is jumping up and down on it's grave.....
The new Asus UX21 can start up from a sleeping state in just 2 seconds claims Asus, which runs on a 64 or 128GB solid state drive and comes with USB 3.0 ports. The new wave of ultrabooks such as the UX21 with be running on Intel's Core I7 processor. This will rival the MacBook Pro in terms of power and is far removed from the small Atom processor used by the now dead netbooks. As laptop designs go the UX21 isn't one of those black - off the shelf plastic clones, with the chassis made from lightweight aluminum alloy with its metal keyboard and glass track pad coming straight off the *top shelf* - very VERY impressive all this and still only 17mm thick.
With a number of specs equaling only the MacBook Air it's not hard to see where the UX21 looked for inspiration. There will be 2 screen sixes available an 11.6inch and a larger 13.3inch with a resolution of 1366X786.
With such an impressive list of statistics you would expect the UX21 to be one of the high end laptops and it is - retailing around $1,364.00 - not for the faint hearted
